Markets and Brocantes
There are regular markets and Brocantes or Vide-Greniers (attic clearances) in the French countryside of the Berry. Here are some suggestions. There is a booklet in the house with the planned brocantes/vide-greniers. Look in the Cher and Indre regions and also see how many stalls there are to see how big the brocante is.
Chateaumeillant and La Chatre
On Friday morning there is a small market in Chateaumeillant. (5 km) The village is small so the market is easy to find.

On Saturday morning there is a nice market with a large terrace in La Chatre (12 km, see photo on the right).

St Aout
Marche a mardi
Tuesday morning: market in St Aout. Be warned, live animals are also sold here at this rural market.
Brocantes
An example of a very large flea market: St Amand Montrond (approx. 40 km)

In France there are many brocantes or 'vide-greniers' (attic clearance) in the spring, but especially in the summer (and especially) on weekends. There are 2 booklets in the house where these are indicated. They are listed by date. Look in the regions of 'Cher' and 'Indre' because our region 'le Berry' covers parts of these 2 departments. Pay attention to the distance and often it says how many stalls there will be.
